Summary
Capital Farm Credit, founded in 1916 provides financing for farmers, ranchers, and agribusinesses. They contracted Presence Consulting Group to revamp their loan life cycle system used by different departments, such as Appraisal, Loan Processing, Compliance, etc. With the re-designed system, the company has significantly cut down the process overhead by 400% and made recording of auditing documents as easy as right-clicking on an email within Outlook. With the whole life cycle re-built as workflow, management can measure performance via a dashboard.
Problem
Capital Farm Credit realized that their loan life cycle processing was time consuming and inefficient, that they needed a centralized customer view to capture missed business opportunities, and that there was a need to make audit document recording much easier.
Solution
A new Microsoft.NET workflow system was built to support the loan life cycle which involves multiple professionals and a series of steps including processing, underwriting, closing, and ultimately servicing the loan. Under the industry regulation, certain communication needs to be recorded for audit purposes. Originally, this was done by copying and pasting the email text into a separate Word document or copying it into another application. However, besides being time-consuming, this multi-step procedure is error prone. Our solution puts a context menu item right in user’s email inbox and lets them “tag and save” an email with ease. It triggers a loan selection screen for the user to associate this email appropriately and save to the database.
To provide quick answers for customers calling in, our solution provides an integrated interface for loan professionals to see all correspondences, past loans, and loan details associated with a customer. Before such an interface existed, our client’s customer service professionals usually had to log into different systems, or redirect customers to different departments. Our solution enabled our client to provide better customer service and increase customer satisfaction.
