Printer and Fleet Management System
Chess Inc – Denver, CO USA
The Printer and Fleet Management System is a brand-new application that manages printers, customers, vehicles for delivery, drivers and schedules in the retail and warehouse distribution industry. Chess Inc is a computer and printer services firm in the business for over 25 years in Colorado. Their equipment repairing center provides on-site services which include cabling, upgrades, customized laser forms and networking. They are also a business partner with all the major printer manufacturers such as HP, Lexmark, Xerox, Tally, Ricoh, etc.
One of the most important requirements in this system is the ability to give end users complete flexibility to see data from different perspectives, including aggregate data by categories, regions, customers etc. After our design sessions, PCG suggested that Infragistics component be a good candidate and implemented an IronSpeed solution integrated with the latest Infragistics UltraWebGrid.
The project just took a couple of weeks to complete, with one primary developer.
Code Extensions and Customizations
One of the major customizations PCG has implemented is Infragistics integration.
Narrowing down data to view based on different criteria. Operators such as Equal to, Not equal to, Greater than, or Less than can be used individually on different columns.
Column headers can be dragged and dropped on screen to create slice & dice view of data, mimicking Microsoft SQL Server Data Cubes. This allows users to see data from any perspective they want to in real time without limitations.
