This video tutorial is to demonstrate how to configure SharePoint Security in IronSpeed Designer
Microsoft SharePoint has quickly become a major platform for corporations to quickly build team sites, project sites, or department sites to faciliate collaboration among teammates and project personnels. Inevitably, security becomes a concern and there are going to be items, such as sensitive financial statements or human resources -- related documents, that need to be secured. This has quickly spawned the prevalence of the usage of SharePoint security groups.
Since version 7, IronSpeed Designer also let users generate SharePoint applications; and naturally we want to use the same security context already established within the SharePoint environment in generated applications. For example, Purchasing agents under the SharePoint Purchasing group only see Purchasing pages and Maintenance folks under the SharePoint Maintenance group only see Maintenance pages. By using those groups, administrators don’t need to maintain 2 sets of records and run into a potential scenario of determining “which one is the master record.”
In this tutorial, we are going to demonstrate how to configure the security settings appropriately.
